Heralding from Scotland, Mark Mann started his career as an advertising photographer in New York after graduating from Manchester Polytechnic.

He has photographed artists, authors, athletes, actors, actresses, American presidents and even the Sesame Street puppets.

His advertising portfolio is like a who’s who of Fortune 500 companies, such as Pepsi, Ford, Gillette, Adidas and Reebok to name a few.

His work has been seen in numerous magazines, including the likes of Esquire, Billboard, Fortune, Men’s Health and many others.

Whether his portraiture work is up close and personal and filling the viewfinder (or printed page) or the tasteful use of negative space (particularly white or darker backgrounds) the subjects eyes are the centre of focus.

Mann’s personal work photographed on a 1950’s Graflex Super D is of particular note and while not as sharp as his commission work it captures a certain type of warmth and emotion that is visually appealing.
